3-cottage tour for connoisseurs

This route lasts around four-and-a-half hours and much of it is in the shadowy forest - and plenty of mushrooms find their way into a rucksack. The tour starts at Gasthof Orthof and continues as far as the Almrausch-Hütte. Then there is the Kampsteiner Schwaig panorama of the Hochwechsel range. When at the cross at the summit of the Kampstein, at 1,467m in altitude, you’ll discover grand views of the Rax, Schneeberg and Hohe Wand. After a brief stint downhill to Herrgottschnitzer-Hütte then you return to the Orthof.

Panoramic trail with the best views

The day trip provides magnificent views of the Rax, Schneeberg and the Pannonian Plain. It starts in St. Corona, then continues to the Kampsteiner Schwaig and Frauenalpe. The “Drei-Länder-Eck“ (corner of three countries) awaits at an altitude of 1,561m. The trail leads up to the Hochwechsel , where the Wetterkogler Haus is a great place to stop, with a mountain view of the Vienna Alps and of the region of Styria. A return to St. Corona is possible via Marienseer Schwaig and Feistritzer Schwaig.
