The themed trail is in the heart of nature and invites families to take part in an educational adventure. 15 exciting & interactive stations tell children how these forest inhabitants live and what they do.
Playful learning.
The 2.5 kilometre long & free themed trail features 15 stations where you can learn about the lives of ants in the forest in a clear, amusing way: What tasks do they have, who their neighbours are and how do they build and maintain their kingdom?
At Gasthof Orthof in St. Corona – where the summer toboggan run snakes its way down the mountain - an exceptional experience trail starts and describes these small forest inhabitants, and the walk lasts approx. 1.5 hours. A large car park on 2 levels is available here.
An exciting themed hiking path for adults and children
The themed trail is perfect for children aged 3 and over and can also be easily handled with a stretcher. It is possible to use a pram on the adjacent forest path, but it is not really recommended. Families with children and school classes can enjoy this leisurely walk along the ant trail whilst discovering many new things about these interesting animals.
Take a break at the reservoir pond
The highest part of the themed trail features a small relaxation area with a water reservoir pond, sun beds and benches for a little rest - within the pristine nature of the Kampstein region. In addition, the stand-up paddle station is an action-packed change of pace. Back at Gasthof Orthof, hearty food attracts visitors and those who went for a good, long hike certainly have earned an ice cream at the Kronaushütte.
Winter experience on the themed trail
Our ant path is also worth a trip in winter, rewarding visitors with a splendid view over the Vienna Alps, the southern Vienna Basin and as far as Burgenland.
The ant-themed riddle bag contains everything you need such as a riddle book or a magnifying glass to have fun whilst discovering this themed trail. The ant-themed bag is available during the fun park’s opening times at the main counter as well as from the summer toboggan run or the Gasthof Orthof during their opening times.
